When you call me and pray to me, I will listen to you. When you search for me with all your heart, you will find me. - Jeremiah 29:12-13 #seedsfortheheart

How often do we read God's word out of its context and hear in it the promises we want to receive? The hard, real life truth is we have a startling capacity for self-deception.

We often read Jeremiah 29 like it is good news but to the first people who heard the words "I have plans to give you a future filled with hope", they were a tremendous disappointment. God’s people had suffered terribly & would not see restoration of His promise for 70 years [!!!]. Jeremiah promised that God had a plan that was certain and inevitable, yet it would not unfold in the way any of them would have planned it. However, the promise stood.

God's blessings are directly tied to being in right relationship with Him. And being in right relationship flows from seeking "with all your heart." Seeking God will not always result in fixes for life’s problems. Instead, it will cause us to realize we live within a much bigger story ... one in which God resolves the disappointments of life in ways that far exceed our earthly vision.

We may not ever witness with our own eyes certain promises fulfilled but we can not let that stop us from passionately seeking Him. And when we [truly] seek Him, He promises to LISTEN. What more could bring rest & peace to our hearts? That is all we need because we know in the end He is coming to our rescue.

#seedschallenge Remind your children that God is always near - no matter the circumstance. Seeking Jesus with all their hearts is a daily decision. Go back & review the past #seedsfortheheart verses. Use those in your prayers throughout the week. The Bible says a child who is diligently trained in the “way he should go” will remain true to that way in this life and reap its rewards in the next.

There's nothing greater than being able to apply a verse your family has learned to your everyday life circumstances.
To encourage you to keep this front of mind, we've created a FREE wallpaper download for your phone below. May it remind you throughout the week to keep God's word in your heart. XO
